Supporting The Navajo Nation

Like many communities across the world, the Navajo Nation has been severely impacted by several recent events, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Wood Springs 2 Fire. On July 14th, Diné Development Corporation (DDC) provided a $400,000 dividend to the Navajo Nation for calendar year 2019. The contribution designated $240,000 for the Navajo Nation General Fund and $160,000 for the Business and Industrial Development Fund (BIDF). This dividend follows a $500,000 donation to the Navajo Nation COVID-19 crisis relief fund delivered in April 2020.

“Our own Diné Development Corporation, this team is doing an amazing job…and working hard for our Navajo Nation,” stated Navajo Nation Vice President, Myron Lizer, during the Navajo Nation Town Hall meeting on July 14.

DDC CEO, Austin Tsosie shared a powerful, heartfelt message as well: “We assure the Navajo Nation that our teams are working diligently to provide consistent dividends for the Navajo Nation. We strive to be a dedicated resource for many years to come… As we work together to overcome this critical period, we will prevail for our Great Navajo Nation. Ahéhee’ (thank you) to everyone heeding safety measures, leaders for their diligence, medical teams and first responders for their expertise and all those that remain committed to their practices for the benefit of our Diné Nation.”
