Founded in 1900, Coppin State University (CSU) is a comprehensive Historically Black Institution (HBI) originally founded for teacher education. Named in honor of Fanny Jackson Coppin, an outstanding African American educator, the university has reaffirmed its dedication to excellence in teaching and student success. Located in Baltimore, MD, Coppin State University is a public historically black university that is part of the University System of Maryland and a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

The Phoenix provided Brand strategy, creative design, and event planning and implementation for the development and execution of the Economic Empowerment Gubernatorial Candidate Forum at Coppin State University, hosted by the College of Business Center for Strategic Entrepreneurship.
